She was an honorary member of the MVDFD Ladies Auxiliary and a former president of the Women's Institute. She was an avid bingo fan in Mill Village and Port Medway. She is survived by sons Byron (Betty), Port Medway and David (Helen) at home, grandsons, Blair, Stephen, Derek, David (Skana), and Christopher (Tanya), great-grandchildren Griffin, Alex and Ainsley, sisters, Doris, Ruth, brothers, Donald, Earl, Eugene, Dennis and Irvine. She was predeceased by husband Hughey, brothers, Max, Frank, sisters, Hilda and Gloria. To respect her long-term commitment her body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical Science. There will be no service by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society (Atlantic) or the Queens General Hospital Memorial Fund.
