Robert PARK was born about 1842 in Port Medway, Queens County, Nova Scotia. He died before July 1922 at the age of 80. Robert appears to have learned the trade of shoemaking and tanning and preparing leather from his father. He shows on the old map of East La Have as the co-inhabitor of a lot [#8] with him, year unknown. Robert is later listed as being co-operator of a business with his father [see Atwood, Senr. Notes.] in the town of Aylmer. He is shown on the census of 1871 and 1881, as living in Aylmer and married to Elizabeth Sytes. They do not appear to have had any children. After the census of 1881, neither one appears again, whether they moved away or died is not known. Neither Robert nor Elizabeth are buried in the Aylmer Cemetery, or do not appear to be. I say this, as I have found that Mary Ann, his mother is, in her obituary, said to have been buried there, and the grave side internment conducted by the Rev. Mr. Tonge, who was the Methodist minister in Aylmer at the time, but she is not in the records of the cemetery. This could also be the case for Robert and Elizabeth. His brother James D. is buried there in a very large plot, probably eight grave sites, apparently [according to the cemetery records.] alone. There is a large obelisk style marker, but only James' name is engraved. It is quite possible that Robert and Elizabeth are interred in this plot, and that their names were never added. If that is the case, then their names do not appear in the records, same as Mary Ann.
In the settlement of the estate of his sister Mary Elizabeth Parks Kellogg of Springfield, Mass. neither Robert nor Elizabeth are mentioned, nor any issue, while children of other sisters [deceased] are given an inheritance, which gives credence to the speculation that there was no issue from this marriage and that this couple were deceased by this time [July 1922] Parents: Atwood Deane PARK and Mary Ann HARLOW.
